We cite how many items have circulated, how many people have cards, and how many events we have but what do these numbers really mean?  Moving beyond the numbers we can assess the true value of the library to the community.
After this workshop participants will:

  • Have a better understanding of how to demonstrate the impact and value of the library to the community through ongoing evaluation and assessment of library services
  • Be able to start instituting outcome-based evaluation techniques to measure the impact of library programs and services.
  • Understand the value of collecting and sharing stories that demonstrate the impact of programs, services, and even staff on the community and individuals.
  • Have resources on various data collection, research, and analysis methods for continued learning.
Competency: Organizational Leadership
Sub-Category: Models accountability for quality and timeliness of work and reliability in achieving excellent results

Presenter:  Melissa Powell
