Revving Up Your Investment Program

Details

Developing an in-house investment program from scratch is a daunting task.  With new money market fund regulations and Basel III ratio implementation on the horizon, DaVita Inc.’s Treasury team made the decision to take charge and transition from 100% short term investment in money market funds to a strategic mixture of high ECR operating accounts, time deposits, commercial paper, Yankee CDs, Treasury bills, and money market instruments.  Key investment advantages include: improved alignment of investment maturity and corporate cash flow, increased portfolio returns, decreased management expenses, and additional opportunities to reward lenders.  Speakers will discuss important lessons learned which will help you with creating your vision, selling your proposal to the C-suite, and navigating the challenges of developing an investment policy, adjusting  accounting processes, creating internal controls, selecting appropriate investments, monitoring credit risk, reporting results to senior executives, and taking advantage of changing markets and regulatory environments.
