How many times have you left a conversation wishing you had said what you were really thinking instead of holding back for fear of making the situation worse? Or have you had conversations in which you said something you later regretted? The balance between passiveness and aggressiveness—setting boundaries with others-- is a skill with which many of us struggle. Assertiveness requires appropriate timing, word choice, diplomacy and strategies that influence. This three-hour program will cover the essential skills for being assertive with colleagues, customers, managers and anyone with whom tactful, yet powerful influence is necessary. Skills to be included and practiced are:
Understanding what assertiveness really means
Identifying one’s assertiveness style
Speaking up with tact and influence
