Description:
January 16, 2018 AL!VE Academy Webinar – “Managing Volunteer Risks – What Could Possibly Go Wrong?”

Presenter: William Henry, Volunteers Insurance Service Association (www.visvolunteers.com).

Sometimes volunteers are injured, injure someone else, or are at fault in a vehicle accident while volunteering. Anticipating and preventing those incidents can not only prevent physical harm, but also protect the organization’s reputation, staff and volunteer relations and morale, and access to affordable insurance. In this Webinar you will learn the most common accident and liability risks involving volunteers, and how to manage those risks effectively. Through description and discussion of actual incidents occurring over the 40-year history of the Volunteers Insurance Service program, you will learn how to dig deep to evaluate severity and frequency of foreseeable risks; how to select, train and hold volunteers accountable; how to respond when incidents do occur; and more. Handouts you can download will provide valuable resources for developing and refining your risk management practices.
