ABOUT THE PRESENTATION |  Accurate temperature control of foundry sand has proven to increase core production and quality.  Foundries are continually looking to improve energy efficiency and lower respirable crystaline silica dust emissions to meet new OSHA regulations.  Solex Thermal Science has designed an innovative, plate heat exchanger technology for the accurate temperature control of foundry sand which addresses these key issues.  https://www.solexthermal.com/industries/foundry-sand/

The presentation covers heat transfer fundamentals for bulk solids, the principles of operation, ThermaPro thermal modeling, cooling system options, temperature controls, conventional sand cooler designs vs Solex plate exchangers, mass flow control, energy efficiency improvement, respirable crystaline silica dust reduction
and installation considerations.  The presentation will be of interest to foundry engineers, production and maintenance staff and managers, and foundry sand system integrators.
