The City of Columbus Division of Water (DOW) is accepting resumes for a vacant Engineer II position. Salary: $40.24-$60.35/hr. To qualify you must have a valid State of Ohio certificate as a registered Professional Engineer and a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. This position will be in the DOW’s Distribution Engineering section and will be responsible for reviewing proposed plans and submittals affecting the water distribution system to ensure compliance with DOW practices and standards. Duties will also include: attendance of development meetings and review of plans submitted to the One Stop Shop, resolving conflicts that arise during construction to ensure the solution will safeguard the water infrastructure, and supervising staff including engineers and technicians involved in plan review. Candidates should have training or experience in one of the following fields: civil, electrical, structural, building mechanical, architectural engineering and other engineering fields. Prior experience with plan review or the development of plans that include water infrastructure is preferred.
