UIC Tutorium is looking to fill immediate part-time instructor positions as well as to build its pool of instructors for all programs. Full-time regular positions have all been filled and will not be available within the next year.

UIC Tutorium delivers English language programs and support services for international students. We operate three programs: The Intensive English Program, the Pathway Program, and the English for International Professionals series. The Tutorium’s Intensive English Program is for international participants who wish to study academic English full time (20-25 hours per week). The Pathway Program serves degree seeking students who concurrently take English language support courses. Tutorium’s English for International Professionals series offers part-time evening and weekend courses, online courses, TOEFL iBT and IELTS test preparation, TESOL Professional Development, as well as custom designed group courses.

In addition to teaching, instructors may be required to…
-Participate in testing, placement, and orientation of new students if scheduled.
-Maintain records of student achievement and attendance and submit the appropriate forms including, but not limited to, the Absence Notification Form.
-Complete and submit in a timely manner all required forms including, but not limited to, Midterm and Final Student evaluation forms and Curriculum, Materials, and Assessment evaluation form.
-Attend faculty meetings (both all-faculty and specific course meetings); during the first semester of hire, adjunct faculty will attend all new-teacher orientation activities scheduled by the Curriculum Committee.
-Keep regularly scheduled office hours.
-Coordinate with other instructors for a consistent curriculum across multiple sections.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirement is a Master’s degree. We will consider a Master’s in TESOL/Applied Linguistics/Linguistics, Master’s with a TESOL Certificate, Master’s in a Related Field, Master’s in a Content Area specific to course/program offerings. C2 English Proficiency
