Reports To: Survey Manager
Pay Type: Hourly
Job Type: Full Time
Pay Range: $43 - $55 per hour, depending on experience

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Surveyor is responsible for direct technical support to survey (field and office) and engineering teams by coordinating and supplying information and maintaining accuracy and completeness of office and field project files, including directing, training and managing Survey Technician staff efforts.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Accountable for the integrity and organization of all data generated or contributed to assigned survey projects, whenever directly responsible for or overseeing survey Technician efforts.
• Prepare survey maps and associated deliverable including (but not limited): Subdivision Plats, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Land Survey Plats, Legal Descriptions, Topographic Mapping, Improvement Location Certificates, Grading Improvement Certificates and General Surveying Exhibits.
• Initiate as necessary, formal review process prior to data being released to internal or external clients.
• Oversee and review, import and analyze field notes (electronic and paper formats) and other collected field information for required content, accuracy and legibility in support of processing and preparing the surveying products offered by CCES.
• Oversee the creation of homebuilder ILC’s, staking diagrams and GIC’s and process documents as directed.
• Perform the requisite research, boundary analysis and boundary calculations in support of all boundary determination/retracement projects performed by CCES.
• Review and analyze provided design plans for accuracy, constructability and agreement with related project plans and documents. Prepare construction-staking information, point files, horizontal/vertical alignments and graphical exhibits for civil construction projects.
• Oversee the planning, scheduling and projected budgets.
• Prepare surveying proposals.
• In support of primary office responsibilities be prepared to participate in field efforts as required.
• Oversee and perform plat checks in accordance with CCES standards.
• Adhere to, maintain and uphold the professional cannons, ethical standards and codes of conduct commensurate with that of the Professional Land Surveyor’s of the State of Colorado. Maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and municipal representatives with a positive and collegial attitude.
• Field visits to confirm produced work, examine sites and coordinate with field crews.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience: Requires registration as a Land Surveyor intern or Processional Land Surveyor in the state of Colorado or ability to obtain such registration by 2026. At least 8 years of experience in construction staking, land development, property subdivision, topographic and design survey, and ALTA/ASCM Land Title Survey preparation.
Specific Skills/Equipment Operation: Proficient in AutoCad or other software currently in use by CCES. Obtain knowledge of requirements of regulatory agencies for submittal of subdivisions. Ability to work with mathematics and measurement systems (primarily Arabic) as required by regulatory agencies. Ability to learn horizontal and vertical design skills (through use of specialized software or class work) and obtain a thorough understanding of electronic data transfer, including software to software and office to field through on-the job experience.
Comments:
Work Environment: Depending on needs of project, performance of tasks on project site (outdoors, possible heat, cold or inclement weather, presence of construction equipment and associated hazards) or in normal office environment.
Physical Demands: May range from minimal physical activity to strenuous walking and climbing on uneven terrain on project site. Ability to understand and be understood in the English language, both orally and in writing. Ability to use close vision (corrected to required level of accuracy) and ability to distinguish colors sufficiently to read project maps and elevations. Ability to spend long periods of time, 6 to 8 hours per day, working at a computer station.
Expected billable time: 95% of weekly total
