ARS Traveling Teacher Completes Workshop in Western NC After COVID Hiatus
After over 2 years of COVID cancellations and restrictions, ARS Traveling Teacher Jody Miller conducted the last of 3 workshops funded by an ARS Traveling Teacher Grant on October 8 in Hendersonville, NC. He was hosted by an ARS chapter, the Carolina Mountains Recorder Society.

ARS awarded CMRS its grant just before COVID-related shutdowns, and  graciously extended the grant for 2 years, which enabled the chapter finally to claim it this past June.

To conclude our 3-workshop series topic (Music of the European Courts), we learned about Christian IV of Denmark and his favored musicians, John Dowland, Praetorius, and William Brade.  Through our individual lessons and group workshop sessions associated with our ARS Traveling Teacher grant, our chapter members have grown and changed.

Our Western North Carolina chapter thanks the American Recorder Society for enabling great teachers like Jody Miller to share his expertise with others in different parts of the country.  A complete list of ARS Traveling Teachers is available on the ARS website, along with grant applications.
