CPAN Praises House Democratic Caucus for Standing in Support of Michigan Auto No-Fault

Lansing – The House Democratic Caucus held a news conference this morning to announce their opposition to insurance industry-backed legislation that would place draconian restrictions on care provided to auto accident victims in Michigan. Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault president John Cornack issued the following statement in support of the Michigan’s House Democrats’ stance:

“CPAN would like to thank the Michigan House Democrats for standing up in support for seriously injured people, health care providers and taxpayers of this state,” said Cornack. “Our members find it hard to fathom that lawmakers on either side of the aisle would even consider legislation such as HB 4612. This bill will cost us thousands of jobs, heap millions of dollars in increased Medicaid costs onto taxpayers, and take away needed care for our state’s most seriously injured. It will do all of this, without any real and lasting savings to consumers whatsoever.”

Republican-controlled House Insurance Committee passed HB 4612 yesterday on a party-line vote.
