CPAN Statement on Newly Introduced Auto Insurance Legislation
LANSING – Democrats in the Michigan House held a news conference today announcing their alternative to proposed changes to Michigan’s auto insurance system. The 14-bill package aims to address three key areas: consumer protection, affordability and transparency.
In response to today’s announcement, Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault (CPAN) President John Cornack issued the following statement:
“CPAN has long said it is possible to improve Michigan’s no-fault auto system without negatively impacting auto accident survivors, Michigan taxpayers or health care providers. This proposal demonstrates that fact.
Transparency, consumer protection and affordability are core to our members’ values, and we see these bills as a positive step in the conversation about no-fault in Michigan. We will be working diligently with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to move these ideas forward,” said Cornack.
