Wallace State Theta Delta Chapter - Sigma Kappa Delta


Welcome to the Theta Delta Chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta 

Sigma Kappa Delta is the National English Honor Society for two-year colleges.  The Theta Delta Chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta was established in 2007 at Wallace State.  Sigma Kappa Delta provides the exceptional student with a variety of opportunities for advancing the study of language and literature, for developing skills in creative and analytical writing, for meeting other outstanding scholars and professionals in the discipline of English, and for obtaining scholarships.  Sigma Kappa Delta is actively involved with Arts in April.​ Membership requirements include completion of at least 12 semester hours college credit, three semester hours of college English, and an overall 3.0 GPA.

What We Do

As a member, you will plan and participate in chapter and college events and activities. These may include readings, plays, art shows, and other fine arts events. Additionally, you will meet other outstanding scholars and professionals and receive information about scholarships and writing contests.

We are also associated with Sigma Kappa Delta, the national English honors society for two-year colleges. This honors society allows students to present at conferences, publish critical and creative writing, and win scholarship and award money.
