Erich Katz (1900-1973), Honorary President of the American Recorder Society, stands as one of the foremost figures in the early music revival in America. He wrote the Suite of Jewish Folk Tunes, based on Chanukah songs, in a time when it was difficult to find tenor and bass recorders. It was originally scored for S, S, A. It is comprised of four tunes: "Who Can Retell," "Song of Thanksgiving," "Candle Song," and "Dreydl Song."
