Event Description
Kim Gully, MS,CCC-SLP,CCM,CBIST is a speech language pathologist by original training who specializes in working with individuals who have sustained traumatic brain injuries, strokes, anoxic episodes, and other neurological conditions.  She has been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 1984, a Certified Case Manager since 2005, and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer since 2009.  She retired in 2020 after enjoying a satisfying career as a therapist, case manager, support group leader, local/regional/national speaker, and brain injury advocate.  She is currently working to advocate for individuals who need assistance navigating through the recovery process after a traumatic brain injury.  She runs a support group for brain injury survivors and caregivers and is the President of the Medical Speech-Language Pathology Council of California.  She enjoys running, traveling, and providing pet therapy visits with her chocolate labrador retriever Sara through Pet Prescription team.

Target Audience:  Medically Based Speech-language pathologists​
Course Description:   This session will focus on the neurocognitive and psychosocial issues brain injury survivors experience.   Primary discussions will revolve around the personality changes, behavioral issues and cognitive changes brain injury survivors experience and rehab approaches to manage these issues.Collaboration with other rehab professionals will be addressed to ensure appropriate referrals.
Participants will be able to:
Identify cognitive complications and rehab approaches to address these issues
List behavioral issues and interventions associated with brain injury
Name psychosocial complications that may arise as a result of a brain injry

In order to receive credit for this course participants must complete the following requirements:  
  • attend entire course
    • Join webinar on time and stay until course concludes
    • partial credit  not allowed
  • complete program evaluation
    • must be completed within 7 days of completion of course in for attendance to be reported to ASHA CE Registry
    • certificate of completion will be awarded upon receipt of program evaluation

Refund Policy
Refund requests must be submitted in writing via email. Requests made more than 10 business days prior to course date will be subject to an administration fee of $15 of the registration fee if an additional cost is associated with the course.  Membership fees will not be refunded if member is not able to attend conferences that are included with annual fee.  Refund requests made less than 10 business days prior to any course that requires an additional fee for the course are subject to a $25 administrative fee.  This is to cover the costs associated with the course that have already been accrued based on preregistration.  No refunds for non-attendance will be issued on the day of, or after, the conference.
Cancellation Policy
If MSCC cancels a course that requires an additional registration fee, all members who have prepaid for the course will be refunded the registration fee in the form of the original payment within 30 business days of the cancellation of the course.   MSCC membership fee will not be refunded.
