Setting Boundaries of Your Storytelling
Date/Time
3/16/2024
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Eastern
Event Description

When applying for various labs and fellowships, some applicants may feel compelled to reveal personal details about their lives. This is especially true for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds who may feel pressured to share more information about themselves in their applications and writing. However, it's important to recognize that not everyone is entitled to your story. In this panel discussion, you'll have the opportunity to learn from a group of experts on how to share some personal details about yourself in a way that feels comfortable without feeling the need to disclose everything about your background.

Join us for a virtual conversation with:

  • Lawon Exum, Entertainment & News Media Director, RespectAbility
  • Chanel Keenan, Communications Fellow, RespectAbility
  • Steven McCoy, Entertainment & News Media Fellow, RespectAbility

Moderated by: Lauren Appelbaum, Senior Vice President, Entertainment & News Media, RespectAbility

This panel will include ASL interpreters and a live captioner.
