Overview:

 

This program on Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) will teach you how to provide a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based approach while working with ADHD adults. Your presenter incorporates the latest research and evidence-based practices to share effective, applicable clinical strategies. This program will discuss key concepts including neurodiversity and executive functioning, review diagnostic criteria and limitations, explore how ADHD presents differently in adults and women, and examine treatment needs and strategies.

 

Objectives: 

  • Participants will be able to accurately define and apply the term neurodiversity
  • Participants will be able to identify the signs and symptoms of ADHD in adults
  • Partifipants will be able to distinguish how ADHD presents differently in children vs adults and men vs women.
  • Participants will be able to identify common treatment needs and recommendations for ADHD adults

Alyssa Loman is a licensed clinical professional counselor, professional development provider, and co-founder of a training and consulting company, Empowered Pathways LLC. Experienced in community mental health, university counseling, and private practice settings, she is skilled in crisis intervention, mental health counseling, supervision, consultation, professional development, policy writing, and serving on multidisciplinary teams. Loman is devoted to improving access to quality mental health care, increasing understanding and awareness of neurodiversity, and creating trauma-informed environments to support whole health and wellness.
