Throughout history, race-based voter suppression has persistently plagued our democratic processes. The disability community has also faced many barriers to voting, from inaccessible polling places to restrictions on absentee voting. For voters of color with disabilities, these barriers compound, making it that much more difficult to exercise the fundamental right to vote. Join us for a panel conversation exploring the intersections of race, disability, and voting rights. The webinar will delve into historic and ongoing voter suppression measures that impact people of color, people with disabilities, and other intersecting identities.

The webinar will highlight how organizations and advocates are working to remove barriers to the ballot box and promote civic engagement among disabled individuals. Panelists include Monica Wiley from The National Disability Rights Network and Olyvia Armstrong from Pennsylvania Voice, with Michelle McMurray from The Pittsburgh Foundation moderating the conversation.
