VGCSA Members will compete to be crowned the VGCSA Champion. There will be four divisions, Superintendent, Assistant, Senior (Age 55 & up), and Vendor. Two superintendents and one assistant superintendent with the lowest gross scores will qualify for the Virlina Cup taking place at Wildcat Cliffs Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina on October 13-15, 2024.

​Join us for the 2024 VGCSA Championship & Virlina Cup Qualifier! This is an open tournament for all members and their guests. The format is individual stroke play. The Champion and Runner-Up of the Superintendents Division and the Champion of the Assistants Division will qualify for the 2024 Virlina Cup at Wildcat Cliffs Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina on October 13-15, 2024

  • Closest to the pin & long drive contests

The VGCSA Championship will be played on the Full Cry Golf Course at Keswick Hall in Keswick, VA. Full Cry, one of the last golf courses designed by the brilliant Pete Dye, has consistently been ranked as one of the best courses to play by major golf magazines. The 18-hole award-winning design merges modern golf course architecture with the rolling topography of central Virginia. The surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains provide a serene backdrop for the challenging course. Strategically designed for the enjoyment of both novice and expert-level golfers.

Overview - The VGCSA Championship features the top players of the VGCSA, vying for gross and net championships in three divisions, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and Vendor. The low gross among superintendents age 55 & over will be the Senior Champion. Full Cry Golf Course plays host on August 12th in this stroke play event.  Class A, B, C and F (including Partners) are eligible.  The top two superintendents and the top assistant qualify for the Virlina Cup based on gross scores. Gross and Net trophies will be awarded!

Format & Rules – Individual Stroke Play with four Divisions: Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, Assistant, Vendor.  USGA Rules Govern Play.  All ties decided by USGA scorecard method except in the case of a playoff for a Virlina Cup birth which will be an on course playoff.

Eligibility – Class A, B, C and F (including Partners) members in good standing of VGCSA. Members may invite one unaffiliated guest.

Virlina Cup Qualifying and Prizes – The Champion and Runner-Up of the Superintendents Division and the Champion of the Assistants Division will qualify for the 2024 Virlina Cup at Golden Wildcat Cliffs Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina on October 13-15, 2024.

Senior Championship - Class A and B members who are age 55 & over as of the tournament date will compete for the Senior Championship based on gross score. Please check the box on the registration page if you are eligible. All players will play the same tees, so seniors are also eligible for the regular championship and the Virlina Cup team.

Entry Fee - Includes Golf, Cart, Range Balls, Lunch, Awards, Prizes and Open Bar Reception. The tournament is subsidized by our sponsors. Winners will receive trophies.
