Founded in 1995 by Inuit-African American brothers Stephen and Phillip Blanchett. Pamyua is a genre-bending musical group known for the "Inuit Soul" sound. They blend traditional Yupik drum and dance rhythms with contemporary R&B and soul influences, creating a unique sound that celebrates their heritage. Pamyua has gained international recognition, performing at major festivals and even composing the theme song for the PBS kids show Molly of Denali.
