White Sands National Park will hold September’s Full Moon Night event on Tuesday September 17, 2024, at 7:00 pm. In partnership with Western National Parks Association, we are pleased to welcome back the Rio Grande Revelers Dixieland Jazz Band for another performance at the park's September Full Moon Night program. The Rio Grande Revelers are a traditional jazz band formed in the Spring 2022 based out of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
The Rio Grande Revelers feature traditional jazz from nearly a hundred years ago with the early classics through the revival period of the 1940’s and 1950’s. The band members all have a lifelong passion and an extensive history as musicians. Some members of the band have been playing music for as many as fifty years.

Join us for a relaxing fall evening on Tuesday, September 17, at 7:00 pm in the park’s natural outdoor amphitheater where you can enjoy the radiance of the dunes beneath a full moon while listening to smooth jazz and tapping your toes in the sand. The program is free, but park entrance fees will apply. To get to the amphitheater, drive approximately six miles beyond the fee station to an intersection just after the Backcountry Camping Trail parking lot. Take a right at that intersection and then the second left. Drive approximately one mile further and the amphitheater will be on the right side. The parking lot will open at 6:00 pm. Seating is not provided at the amphitheater. You are encouraged to set up on the surrounding dunes and bring camp chairs, blankets, and coolers with food and drinks. Please help keep White Sands beautiful by packing out all your trash.
