Hailing from a Burkina Faso griot family with a rich musical legacy, Mamadou Diabate is a virtuoso balafon player who leads the electrifying ensemble Percussion Mania. Steeped in the traditions of the Sambla people, Diabate began his training at the tender age of five, honing his skills under the tutelage of his father and other renowned balafon masters. Percussion Mania, known for its innovative use of dual balafons as lead instruments, takes audiences on a vibrant journey through West African musical heritage, infusing traditional rhythms with dazzling arrangements and Mamadou's own captivating "balafon language.
