Event Description
The ACL-funded National Paralysis Resource Center (operated by the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation) is holding a free virtual training for leaders of support groups for people living with paralysis and their family members/caregivers. This training is designed especially for leaders with up to three years of experience and those who are just starting out.
Led by an experienced facilitator, the Support Group Leader Training will provide an introductory overview of support group leadership with a focus on best practices. Participants will gain new insights and skills to help them lead effective and meaningful groups. Topics to be covered include how to conduct in-person and virtual support groups, lead engaging discussions, encourage members to participate, keep support groups going, and more. The training will also provide opportunities for participants to connect with group leaders from across the country and learn from each other’s experiences.
