Event Description
Depression, "the dark evil", "the evil of the century", is undoubtedly one of the most widespread disorders in the clinical field; but, at the same time, mood disorders are also difficult to define given their various forms-- sometimes subtle or dissociated. Suicidal ideation has always been one of the most controversial, difficult, and problematic clinical phenomena to identify. CWS has researched and applied the IST (Index of Suicidal Tendencies) to the identification of suicidal tendencies, which has proved to be an index of high sensitivity.
The objective of the seminar will be exploration of the utility of the CWS in identification of both mood disordered/ depressive symptoms and suicidal tendencies, achieved through the presentation of many examples of clinical cases and the comparison between CWS and other clinical tools, primarily Rorschach and MMPI-2. This event will be co-sponsored by the Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP). This event qualifies for 2.0 continuing education credits pending GSPP approval.
