Public sector organizations across Canada are increasingly looking for ways to advance Indigenous engagement and economic reconciliation through procurement. Whether your organization is just beginning its journey or looking to strengthen existing efforts, understanding where to start can be challenging.

Join representatives from the City of Brampton and OECM for a practical discussion on how public agencies can begin or expand Indigenous procurement initiatives in a meaningful and compliant way.

This session will cover:
  • Practical steps public agencies can take to get started with Indigenous procurement initiatives
  • Indigenous supplier verification and the role of third-party certification
  • Insights from the City of Brampton's supplier diversity program
  • An overview of OECM's Indigenous Marketplace and how it was developed to support public sector organizations
  • The Supplier Selection Tool and how to identify qualified Indigenous suppliers that align with your procurement needs
OECM’s Indigenous Marketplace reflects our commitment to social procurement and economic reconciliation, in alignment with TRC Call to Action 92. Through this initiative, 40+ qualified Indigenous suppliers have been vetted and are available to support a wide range of procurement needs.

Attendees will leave with practical guidance, resources, and examples to help move Indigenous procurement initiatives from intention to action.
