Event Description
This course combines essential concepts from the water and wastewater industry with practical math exercises designed to support novice operators. It introduces a variety of proven techniques and problem solving strategies commonly encountered in daily operations and on certification exams. Learners are guided through a clear, step by step approach to interpreting word problems, selecting appropriate formulas, applying the correct order of operations, converting units, and performing basic algebraic calculations with confidence. Course content covers key operational topics, including feed rate, dosage, demand, residual, concentration, pumps, turbidity, flow and flow rate, weight, volume, area, tank capacity, pipe sizing, velocity, detention time, and Q = A × V calculations. Emphasis is placed on practical application, helping operators understand not only how to perform calculations, but also how to use them effectively in real world situations.
