Join us for one of our most anticipated events of the season as the VGCSA Championship returns. Whether you're chasing a title, earning a place on Virlina Cup's Team VGCSA, or simply enjoying a great day with colleagues and friends, this championship tradition delivers competition, camaraderie, and an unforgettable day on the course.

Host Course
We are grateful to host this year's championship at Spring Creek Golf Club. Thank you to Jason Hoffman, James Lamb, and the entire team for welcoming VGCSA for this special event.

Meticulously groomed and ingeniously laid out, Spring Creek Golf Club unfolds over peaceful rolling hills and woods beneath the mountains of Central Virginia. Throughout the course, rock walls and bridges emphasize a theme of old-fashioned elegance and practicality. Bentgrass fairways, beautiful greens, and the natural contour of the land combine to create a unique and exceptional golfing experience.

Event Schedule
8:00 a.m. Registration & Practice Facilities Open
  Breakfast sandwiches and morning refreshments
  Visit with representatives from SynaTek, presenting sponsor of the Championship, and explore product displays before heading out on the course
9:00 a.m. Shotgun Start
~2:00 p.m Post-Round Reception
  Awards reception and trophy presentation

Registration Information
Registration includes: golf, cart, and range balls; four championship divisions with gross and net prizes; closest-to-the-pin and long drive contests; morning refreshments and breakfast sandwiches; on-course beverages; awards reception featuring a fajita station and open beer and wine bar.

Format, Eligibility & Qualifying Information
The VGCSA Championship is contested as individual stroke play, with both gross and net prizes awarded in four divisions: Superintendent; Assistant Superintendent; Senior Superintendent**; and Affiliate/Vendor. USGA Rules govern play, and ties will be decided using the USGA scorecard method.

Class A, B, C, and F members (including Partners) in good standing with the VGCSA are eligible to compete. Members may invite one unaffiliated guest.

**Class A and B members who are age 55 and over as of the tournament date are eligible for the Senior Championship, awarded to the low gross score among senior competitors. Eligible players should indicate their status during registration. All competitors will play the same tees, allowing senior players to compete simultaneously for the overall championship and for a place on Team VGCSA.

Earn Your Place on Team VGCSA
The Championship also serves as a qualifier for the 2026 Virlina Cup. Two superintendents and one assistant superintendent will earn the opportunity to represent the VGCSA alongside those who have already qualified through their local associations. The 2026 Virlina Cup will be held October 25-27 at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville.

Tradition & Recognition
The Assistant Championship trophy is proudly presented in honor of J.D. Dickinson, whose passion for the profession and dedication to others continue to inspire generations of golf course management professionals. J.D. tragically passed away in 2014, and his legacy lives on through this championship tradition.
