2021 OH&LA Lodging Summit

Event

The Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association's annual Lodging Summit is our most exciting event of the year. This year, the event will be held virtually allowing even more members to participate and hear more about the state of Oklahoma's lodging industry, how the industry has been affected by the pandemic when a rebound is expected and what support may well be on the horizon for the hospitality industry. This year's event will take place over two days and the key components of the event include the association's Annual Meeting and Board of Directors meetings where our new Board of Directors is elected, and our prestigious Stars of the Industry Awards. The Summit also features keynote speaker Chip Rogers, President & CEO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association who will provide an overview of the industry from a U.S. perspective. No doubt, 2020 will be memorable because of its tremendous devastation and difficulty, but much was learned from our experiences as well. We encourage you to join us for this virtual event to help lead Oklahoma's lodging industry to recovery and success in 2021.

Annual Meeting - Keynote Speaker
William “Chip” Rogers joined the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) as President and CEO in January 2019. He previously served as the president and CEO of AAHOA, the largest U.S. hotel owners association, from 2014-2019.

Prior to joining the hospitality industry, Chip had a long career as a public servant. He was elected to the Georgia General Assembly six times and was unanimously elected to serve two terms as the Senate Majority Leader. He was elected the first national chairman of the Majority Leaders conference and served on the national boards of directors for the State Legislative Leaders Foundation, the Community Leaders of America, and the American Legislative Exchange Council.

Chip earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech and his MBA from Georgia State.




January 14, 2021 - 2:00 pm  -  Stars of the Industry Awards Live - Virtual Live Stream Presentations
OHLA Stars of the Industry Awards has a 20+ year history of honoring outstanding professionals in Oklahoma’s lodging industry. The awards are presented to individuals who epitomize the service and spirit of our industry. If there is ever a year to recognize employees it is this year, as nominations are based on 2020 achievements. Employees have adapted to the
ever-changing needs of their property, carrying multiple department responsibilities and all while working harder than ever to keep guests safe and provide a wonderful place to stay.

To Participate:
Pre-registration is not required.
This year, join our live stream to watch each award recipient be introduced and accept their prestigious award! 

Award Recipients:
The general manager of each honoree will be informed in advance of exact details about the recipient and details of where and when to bring their award recipient.

Nominees:
This year, each employee who was nominated by the deadline will receive their certificate and lapel pin by mail to their property. They are also encouraged to watch the live stream to see mention of their nomination during the live stream.

Other important details:
The OHLA Vendor Expo has been moved to September 7, 2021 (the day after Labor Day) and will be held in conjunction with our annual STR Luncheon at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel, Oklahoma City. Suppliers, we hope you'll join us and take this opportunity to engage in our largest event of the year. In 2021, the event will take place on the same day as our annual STR Luncheon.
