The Financial Wellness Program Manager creates and develops financial literacy programs to meet the needs of our students, working with many areas across campus; coordinates presentations and workshops for financial aid and financial literacy information to both on and off-campus to groups of students and prospective students; actively contributes to discussions and recommends changes to better meet the needs of the populations served; addresses needs of students from disadvantaged backgrounds by offering guidance and financial assistance when appropriate. Provide assistance with supplementary forms and explanations needed to meet individual circumstances. Composes correspondence to students and other clients relative to aid eligibility, policies, and procedures. Participates in the ongoing development and enhancement of the UCR Financial Aid Office processing system (Banner); Performs special assignments and other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid, Associate Director, or Assistant Director. This position may require travel up to 25% of the time. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to prepare and deliver a financial literacy lesson plan. The budgeted hourly range for this position is between $21.70 - $32.28.

Qualifications:
Education Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Experience Requirements
-2 - 4 years of related experience.

Key Responsibilities
-Oversees the creation, development and implementation of a full-range of financial wellness programs across multiple platforms including online (including social media), group presentations/workshops, and one-on-one financial counseling sessions for current students. Partners with departments and organizations University-wide.
-Provides advice and information to current and prospective students and parents on financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations.
--Participates in outreach services to prospective students, parents, and the general public.
Performs financial aid presentations on and off campus, including new student orientation. Creates and presents financial wellness presentations/workshops on various topics ranging from student loan repayment, budget, the financial aid process. Outreach services can range from presentations to information table requests.
-Analyzes student inquiries, determines relevant issues, and recommends solutions.
-Supervises and trains student assistant to assist with social media and provide excellent customer service to prospective and current students, parents, and the general public.
-Performs needs analysis and assesses eligibility.
--Assess eligibility for emergency loans program and other types of aid.
-Recommends adjustments to aid awards.
-Participates on standing department committees to raise issues and receive direction on practices and procedures.
-Designs, builds, manages, and updates the Financial Wellness Program's web page. Coordinates communication timelines for social media and oversees execution.

-Ability to calculate financial aid with attention to detail and accuracy.
-Strong public speaking and facilitation skills with knowledge in designing and leading presentations and workshops.
-Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
-Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills. Active listening skills. Possesses customer service orientation skills.
-Ability to apply knowledge of policies to individual situations.
-Basic knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices for awarding financial aid.
-Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
-Problem identification and critical thinking skills.
-Basic knowledge of University policies, processes, and procedures.
-Proficiency with standard office software, internet, and email applications. Basic knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
-Experience using complex databases.
-Ability to assess processes and recommend improvements. Good interpersonal skills.
-Knowledge of current social media and tools used to communicate with college students.
