Helmholtz Zentrum München is a research center with the mission to discover personalized medical solutions for the prevention and therapy of environmentally triggered diseases and promote a healthier society in a rapidly changing world.
The Institute of Epidemiology explores the interaction of environment, lifestyle and genetics in the development and progression of various diseases, with a focus is on diabetes, respiratory and allergic diseases, but also cardiovascular diseases and mental health. Our goal is to better understand the molecular mechanisms of disease development in the population. The research is based on the unique population-based KORA resources (cohort, heart attack registry, aerosol monitoring station) and the birth cohorts GINIplus and LISA. The Institute also plays a leading role in the planning and construction of the NAKO Health Study and is building NAKO's central biosample repository.

Qualifications:
As an applicant, you should have
- A PhD in a relevant discipline
- Experience in mathematical and statistical modelling
- Strong data visualization and communication skills
- A high motivation, scientific curiosity and ability to work independently
- Team player skills and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
