Details:
The Department of Environmental Health Sciences is seeking a full time Staff Associate I that will
primarily conduct research experiments, participate in data analysis and help with the operation of
the research team (e.g. ordering, stock maintenance) and other functions as directed by the Principal
Investigator for our new project on gene-environment interactions and brain-derived extracellular
vesicle-based biomarkers in the context of Parkinson's disease.
• The incumbent will maintain current knowledge on gene-environment interactions in
Parkinson's disease and on the last methodological development for brain-derived
extracellular vesicle isolation. (10%)
• The incumbent will use analytical skills to solve moderately complex problems based on
guidelines, protocols, and procedures. (10%)
• The incumbent will work within guidelines and following experimental protocols to carry out
assigned duties and conduct specific experiments needed for the research project. (40%)
• The incumbent will operate and maintain equipment for the research project, and will use
computers and software programs to acquire and analyze data in support of the project. (30%)
• The incumbent will share information with the research team and will contribute the the
confirmation of data. (10%)

Qualifications:
Qualifications
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in a specific research field and 1 to 2 years of
experience
Preferred qualifications: Master's degree with 1-2 years of research lab experience.
