Island Life: Kraken 2700 Arena Coming Soon!

Montana’s The Kraken plans to open its highly anticipated arena this fall. “It’s been the talk of the town,” said owner Richie Somerville. 

New Yorker turned Texan, Somerville remembers his first trip down to South Padre Island in the 90s and then buying property shortly after. “I stayed at Suntide and I loved it.”

2700 Arena

Somerville plans for 2700 Arena to be multifaceted. From a full-blown sports bar with 32-foot-wide screens to family movie nights. Somerville mentioned possibly changing the scene after 10 PM to have a nightclub vibe.

The arena will offer food, pool tables, darts, and a VIP Humidor Cigar Lounge.

While Somerville is eager to open his new arena for this coming football season, opening depends on workers and equipment.

Imported carved Mahogany wood from Honduras.
