Happy fall term!!
I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your fall and have things geared up and ready to go for your students to return to campus. I know that things can get a bit wild this time of year so remember to take time for yourself when you can.
It has been an exciting time for us FAAs these last few weeks with the Debt Relief Plan announcement. To help prepare you for some of the questions you might be getting from students and colleagues, I've compiled a few resources below in this month's newsletter to help get you started!
Please don't forget that you may also view all these articles on our website within the News Archive found here. If you have any information you would like to share with membership or have questions, do not hesitate to reach out at communications@wasfaa.org. |

If we have had the chance to converse, my hope is that I have shared my passion for what I do. I am a first-generation college student. Not brave enough to leave my state to embark on a college adventure, but wide eyed and willing to learn. How did this sheltered and naïve girl come to care about and see others where and as they are? I credit much of this to my first job. |

| Use your NASFAA Learning Credit! |
The decision to accept or donate the credit must be submitted by your NASFAA Primary Contact by August 31, 2022, and the learning credit must be used by June 30, 2023. If your institution opts to donate the learning credit, NASFAA will donate the $600 originally allocated for your school to a new scholarship fund for under-resourced institutions.

| Read a message from our Treasurer, Ashley Coleman.
"My favorite part of my job is providing a student with something – funding, resources, support – that enable them to achieve their dream of obtaining a degree. I was that student that needed support years ago, a first-generation student from a low-income family. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for financial aid. As far as duties go, I enjoy R2T4! I know – I’m weird. I processed R2T4 for many years and enjoyed the challenge." |
