TEA UPDATE

THOA members can access the TEA Webinar on our website under Members / THOA Thursdays. This webinar topic covered the changes and updates to the Health Science Program of Study. THOA Thursday Webinars

• All the TEKS for Health Science have been moved over to the chapter 127 on the TEA website. You can access both current and upcoming TEKS here.

The TEA Statewide CTE Coordinator over Health Science Technology, Juanita Soto will be presenting this summer at Professional Development Conference. In addition to being one of our Key Note speakers, Ms. Soto will also present 45 minute sessions to help instructors better understand TEA resources, IndustryBased Certifications (IBC) and tieredfunding. She is also looking forward to visiting with "classroom teachers" in person.

NHA has a team of CTE specialists who work specifically with programs in Texas and help offer learning resources, test preparation materials, and industry-based credentialing options to your health science students. Provisional certification allows students the option of testing up to 12 months before graduation for many of our certifications, with flexible testing options for on-campus or virtually proctored exams. We also advocate with local employers to ensure they understand the value your certified students bring to their care teams.
