Henry's Charters & Bus Tours Adds to Island Community and Tourism

Going on year three of his fishing charters, Henry Rodriguez expanded beyond charters on SPI. Besides various fishing trips, dolphin encounters, floating oases, and party cruises, Henry's Charters started its bus tours and services late last year.

What started the bus tours for Rodriguez was the desire to offer more activities for the community and winter Texans in the wintertime or what's better known as the "off-season."

Rodriguez operates his bus tours like his charters on land, showing tourists around and being a guide. "It's easy to hop on a bus to Progreso," said Rodriguez.

Henry's Charters basic package which includes a water trampoline with a slide, floating island and other inflatables to enjoy your day in the water.

Traveling by bus allows tourists to enjoy a ride with drinks, shop, eat, and discover Progreso before their ride back.

"We'll wait for them and bring them back to the island, so they do not have to worry about driving or getting lost. If they're not familiar with the area, the tour will also guide them over there," said Rodriguez.

The first trip to Progreso started back in Dec. of 2022. Henry's Charters has now taken off by offering trips to Progreso, the Bonita Flats Winery in Los Fresnos, The Art Lounge's Art Tours, and private bus services.

Rodriguez helps where he can and is available for events for other businesses.
