| Tis the Season……........….for Nominating and Volunteering! As an all-volunteer organization Impact100 relies on its members to serve in leadership roles as well as support committee and event work. We count on our members’ considerable talents to sustain the community impact we make. Many hands are involved in creating the Impact100 experience over the course of a year - hosting social, educational, and membership events, reviewing grants, creating communications, managing our website, and much more! All are opportunities for members to be active participants in what it means to be Impact100 Greater Milwaukee!
Curious about how to get involved in Impact 100 leadership? We make that easy for you!
At this time each year our Nominating Committee reaches out to all members about available roles as board members or committee chairs. To learn more and (we hope!) express your interest in a position, or to nominate another qualified member, read on! |
|
|
| First: Explore the available opportunities and positions below. Terms begin July 1, 2023, in conjunction with our fiscal year July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024. Open Board of Directors Positions
Impact100’s board is a working board which meets monthly. Officer positions are one- and two-year terms; board directors are generally two-year terms. Current leadership openings for 2023-24 include: • President-Elect • Communications Co-Director (2) • Membership Recruitment Director • Systems Director
• Programming and Outreach Director • Friends of Impact Director
Explore all Board Job Descriptions here.
In addition to their specific responsibilities, directors attend monthly board meetings and events, and perform other periodic leadership tasks in support of the organization. Open Chair Positions Chairs support the organization and directors through defined tasks in specific areas. Most Chair positions are a one-year term, though renewable! Not every Chair position is necessarily open. If a position is not available, we will still contact you or the member you nominate regarding working on the related committee. Explore all Chair Job Descriptions here.
Want to better understand the structure of our organization? Review the Impact100 Organization Chart here. |

|
Then: Just do it! Nominate yourself or another Impact100 member NOW! Nomination submissions are requested by February 20th, 2023. The Nominating Committee will contact all nominees.
Interested but unsure? Have questions and want to learn more? It starts with a conversation, not a commitment. Email us here! Impact100 continues to grow and thrive because members like YOU volunteer their time and talent to the organization in support of our mission. We hope this is the year you will nominate yourself or another member for a leadership position! |

"Other than leadership" Volunteer Opportunities!
Do you have a special skill or interest in a particular area? Do you have limited time and want to join the "One and Done" committee and respond to one-time projects? Or would you like to work with a team of people to support our events throughout the year? There are many opportunities where you can make a difference and get to know other members in the organization.
There are some areas where we REALLY need your help: • Members comfortable with technology are needed to learn the products that support our work and serve as IT advisors. • Manage the grant platform, Foundant. It is used by applicants to submit their applications and all required follow-up reports and also used by grant committee members to review and evaluate grant request submissions. There will be an opportunity to shadow with the current member managing the 2022-2023 grant cycle.
• Communications team: Craft and schedule social media posts as part of our communications campaigns; write articles and member profiles for our newsletter, other info gathering and writing to support the organization’s communications.
Peruse current opportunities on the Job Board and connect with their related contacts for more information!
We LOVE our volunteers. They are the engine that makes Impact100 effective for our members and our nonprofit community. |

Benedict Center
Since 1974, the Benedict Center has provided services and advocacy for women in the criminal justice system so they might lead safer, healthier lives for themselves, their children, and the community. Services include community-based counseling for substance use disorders and mental health treatment, reentry support, neighborhood drop-in centers, and street outreach.
The Impact100 grant funds two Certified Peer Specialists for their new Bridge Program helping women engage in recovery and increase self-sufficiency. These certified peer specialists are women who themselves have successfully transitioned back to the community after incarceration. They are specially trained and act as coaches and accelerators who provide support as women seek to complete treatment and aim to achieve higher levels of independence through education, employment, and stable housing.

Jeanne Geraci, Executive Director for the Benedict Center, shares an inspirational story as an update: Creating Bridges: A Certified Peer Specialist in the Making Jeanne explains: The first person you meet when you enter the Benedict Center is Lynette Zarcone sporting a graphic tee with an inspirational message like “Each Day Is a Blessing.”
Lynette recently finished her MATC Human Services internship as a receptionist at the Benedict Center and graduated, with honors, in December. We celebrated with cake, and a job offer as a temporary receptionist to help fill a staffing gap. “Lynette connects well with the women in the program and can multi-task with a smile,” remarks Jeanne. Interested IMPACT100 members can further support the Benedict Center by donating to our Chrome Book Fund which supplies Chrome Books for use by Bridge Program Employment Graduates. Learn more about the Benedict Center or donate! |

| Over 20 years of Offering Hope!!
Hope Street provides housing and healing to people whose lives have been profoundly affected by trauma and tragic experiences, like addiction or abuse. Today about 50 men, women and children live at Hope Street where each have an opportunity to experience spiritual growth, job and life skills training, counseling and more.
The Impact100 grant to Hope Street contributed funding to construction costs, materials, furnishings, equipment and supplies for two classrooms and a resource center within the new Shechem at Hope Street community center. Adjacent to Hope Street’s apartment building, the center provides after-school programming for students grades 1-12 from the 10 schools located within one mile of Hope Street. Additionally, the spaces are used in off-hours for adult classes and workshops and are also open to neighborhood organizations.

| Ashley Thomas, Hope Street Executive Director, offers an update to Impact100 members: Shechem is here.
“We spent several years, eight to be exact, with the slogan ‘Shechem is Coming.’ There were different voices and faces at the table along the way, each contributing wisdom and discernment as we embarked on our first major capital campaign.”
