Greeting Dear Friends!
IWWSG’s 75th Anniversary is now history! And it will be remembered as an AMAZING year, culminating with our Group’s first ever Golf Outing!! On June 26, with over 100 registrants, beautiful weather, warm hospitality from Silver Lake Country Club and great support from our sponsors & donors, the event proceeded seamlessly from golfer check-in to final raffle prize winner announcements. I want to express my deep appreciation to our golfers, sponsors, donors, diners, volunteers, photographers (Ted Denning & Amitabh Mittal), SLCC staff and IWWSG Steering Committee and assistants in planning (for months!), participating in and supporting this event. Because of the success of the event, IWWSG will make a generous donation to the scholarship fund of Basic Dignities ( www.basicdinities.org ), a charity dedicated to undertaking projects bringing basic human dignities, including clean water, education, health care, and more to communities. Several friends have commented that during this past year we have truly respected a quote from E. Ted Erickson, one of the founders of IWWSG, written in 1988 for the Group's 40th anniversary: ".....it was always a fun group and all of the meetings were fun. I am confident and hopeful that the IWW&SG will continue to be fun for another 40 years—at least!"
Several Golf Outing photos are attached in the photo recap below, but we hope you will go to our website, www.iwwsg.org, to check out ALL of the event’s photos.
Your ’23-24 Steering Committee, with both returning veterans and newly elected committee members, will soon be meeting to begin planning the upcoming meeting season. I encourage you to reach out to any of them with your input regarding meeting topics, venues and other issues. We need and appreciate your paid memberships, attendance at meetings/events, and other support. You really are helping to keep IWWSG alive and well! Thank you!! Hope to see you soon! |
