Business Readers–

Island Matters recently launched a campaign for readers to report what they see as newsworthy.

Our See it, Snap it, Send it campaign goal is to help the community connect. Local news cannot function correctly without the community’s input.

Local businesses participated this week in IM's See it, Snap it, Send it campaign to report their concern over low sales in June and July.

A business reported that after 20 years of visiting the island on July 4, customers said they never saw it so slow.

The question from one business is:

I'd like to hear if business owners would respond if their sales were up or down in June and July. What were the factors impacting it? Was it the heat warnings or the economy? Did Corpus Christi and Galveston have the same experience, or did everyone go there instead?

Island Matters wants to get your opinion. Please reply to Sarah@islandmatters.org
