Congratulations are in order for the Spring 2023 WPSC Speak UP! Award winner, Dani Morton. The Speak UP! Award is designed to highlight and promote voicing safety concerns to demonstrate that speaking up doesn't only promote a better, safer work environment but is also deserving of recognition in doing so. The winner of the Spring 2023 WPSC Speak UP! Award is Dani Morton, OB Surgical Technologist at University of Washington Medical Center. Dani’s good catch and assertiveness, and UWMC’s culture of safety prevented an unintentional error.
The award is designed to highlight and promote voicing safety concerns. We encourage healthcare staff to nominate colleagues, or even themselves, to demonstrate that speaking up promotes a better, safer work environment. The next round of nominations is due September 28th, 2023, so submit applications now! The Summer 2023 Speak-UP! Award Period is Currently Open for Nominations The next round for the WPSC Speak-Up! Award is taking nominations for the Summer 2023 award. The nomination deadline is September 28th.

This is a great way to recognize staff and Washington healthcare organizations for the fantastic work they are doing. It is open to clinical and non-clinical employees/team members from all Washington healthcare organizations, such as hospitals, pharmacies, long term care (e.g., skilled nursing facilities & assisted living facilities), clinics and physician offices to name some examples.
