"Helicopters are a little like rollercoasters, except with air conditioning and leather seats!"
The helicopter you might see above you during your time at South Padre Island is piloted by a father-and-son team. Shane Redline and his 22-year-old son, Jax, have brought helicopter rides to the Island.
Jax watched his father fly helicopters when he was a child. He knew from a young age that his home was in the air. Jax got his pilot’s license after graduating from high school. He hasn’t looked back since. Father and son are now a duo pilot team and have a combined 20-plus years of flight experience. The Redlines are originally from Amarillo and believe they have found a home on the Island.
"We have been traveling the country trying to find the perfect tour spot and we believe South Padre Island is exactly that," Jax Redline said. "The Island from the sky is a whole different experience compared to seeing it from the ground!"
Operating from near county Beach Access #6, he wants to give everyone of all ages the unique experience of seeing the Island like many haven’t before.
"I have flown kids as young as one year (old) and seniors as old as 85," Jax said.
