What happened

The Shoreline Task Force recently voted to provide a recommendation to the City Council on dune restoration proposals received on Aug. 17.

Why it matters

Shoreline Director Kristina Boburka and Coastal Coordinator Erica Hughston told the task force that Coastal Transplants submitted the most qualified proposal.

Inconsistencies arose after Shoreline Task Force member Todd Williams reviewed the proposals and asked questions. Facts said on the record about the bidders did not seem to reflect the agenda.

What now

It is still unclear to the Shoreline Task Force and online listeners what the cost breakdown is and whether it recommended the highest bidder (Coastal Transplants) to the City Council for Sept. 6 since the agenda does not show a total cost.
