Home & Beyond had their Grand Opening. On Ford just west of Middlebelt
Garden City Nutrition is rebranding and will have an open house sometime in September
Dues will increase to $50 as of Sept 1, 2023
Evening meeting September 7 5:30 - 7:30pm
1751 Radcliff - Officer Daniels will be giving a presentation on public safety
Food Drive in October instead of Trunk or Treat
GCHS on October 21 11am - 3pm
Looking for members who would like to volunteer
MITP - Next Thursday 8/17 American Ages Band
Rotary will be on hand to collect school supplies
This MITP will be dedicated to the Gibbons Family - please wear your Owen Strong merch or wear red. We will contribute funds collected that night to the family.
Vendors can still apply to come to the next music in the park if interested - please contact Claudia. We’re moving the tables for vendors to the perimeter of the pavilion and beyond.
Food trucks coming - Hogz BBQ, Big Dogs Hot dogs, Fudgy Grandma Coffee. King Kone is scheduled to attend as well.
Elections: After our September meeting we will start taking nominations for the board.
Up for re-election is President, Treasurer, 1 year Trustee, and the 3 year Trustee
In October, we will post the nominees, and in November each nominee may give a brief speech to indicate why they should be chosen for the position.
The winners will be announced at the December meeting and will take effect in January.
Member spotlight:
Natalie Thurmond - announcing a chewable supplement that increases energy. In September she will be launching a facebook group about promoting more green eating.
Gail from Public Services credit - they are having a 18 month cd 5.25%
10% off coupons for Kroll Construction - roofing, siding, gutters, kitchens & bathrooms
Kim Dold - the 14th annual Chili Cook Off will be October 14 and they are looking for sponsors. Sponsorships start at $100 up to $1000. They will offer merchant space. You will need to apply and the committee will determine eligibility to attend.
Chili tickets are $1.00 per sample size, $3.00 per small bowl.
There will also be an Auto’s for Autism car show - spaces are limited.
All proceeds from the Chili Cookoff are donated to local charities. Volunteers are paid per hour worked, but the funds are donated to the charity of their choice.
New light poles are being installed in the DDA district to replace the poles that have gotten old and are failing.
Park at the High School and take the shuttle to avoid trying to find a spot at the event.
Community Shred Day is Saturday Sept 9, 10am - 1pm at the City Hall parking lot. You can also bring old prescription drugs and batteries. Prescription and battery disposal is also available 24/7 at the police department.
Kim Marquette - Rosie the Riveter tickets are available to honor the women who served our country during WWII
Don Nicholson - August 27 is Cruising Hines
Tax Season is approaching and Liberty Tax is opening up their annual tax school will begin on
Oct 9. Classes are Monday & Thursday 9:am 12:00 or 6pm 9pm
GC Dental has hired another Dentist and they are running their 3rd annual back-pack event for all appointments for children.
