Last weekend, Jim’s Pier played host to the 17th-annual “Fishing for Hope”, an event organized by DHR Health. The event is organized to raise money for the Hope Family Health Center, located in Brownsville, which provides free healthcare for uninsured individuals and families. Not only was DHR able to raise $400,000 this weekend, it gave all participants the chance to fish and win prizes as well!
“We are truly humbled by the overwhelming support from the community and our sponsors for this year’s tournament,” said Marissa Castañeda, Senior Executive Vice President for DHR Health. “The funds raised will further the Hope Family Health Center’s mission to provide essential medical services to uninsured families.” Divisions were split into four categories for the winners: Team Physician, Guests, Women’s, and Juniors.
