I live on SPI & could feel the rumble from SpaceX previous launches.
I fear the launches of future, more powerful rockets may cause damages to my home; i.e., cracked foundation, cracked plaster in sheetrock, cracked windows, etc.
I was not aware of a Texas law passed in 2013, authorized by Governor Rick Perry which states "space companies testing, launching, or recovering rockets can’t be held legally liable for damages caused to surrounding areas or properties."
This law will be a hardship to the community and does NOT protect the citizens living in the areas surrounding SpaceX.
When a billionaire cannot be held responsible for damages to property of hardworking citizens, I am very concerned.
I was not aware of this law, and many people I talked with were not aware of this Texas law.
Please report on this law, contacting Governor Abbott, Rep. Eddie Lucio III, who was a co-sponsor of the legislation, and interview local people to verify the complications of this law should Elon Musk release 42 times more powerful rockets in Cameron county.
Thank you.
