After a successful opening summer here on South Padre Island, Margaritaville’s management has wide eyes ahead toward its first winter. Opening in June, Margaritaville, located where the old Pearl resort was, sparked a lot of intrigue and excitement here on the island. So far, the hotel has lived up to the lofty expectations.
Island Matters spoke to Ryan O’Byrne, Director of Sales and Marketing for Margaritaville here in SPI, where he spoke with great enthusiasm about how the initial opening has gone over.
“It’s been received very well,” O’Byrne said. “It’s something new for the island. We’re trying to create a “little oasis,” as well as being family-oriented.”
Since its’ opening, Margaritaville has held events for the Fourth of July, been a mainstay for competitors for fishing tournaments like TIFT and Lady Kingfish, and has become a hot spot for live music and Sunday NFL Football. Now, it wants to use all those elements for Winter Texans and give them the temporary homes they desire.
O’Byrne says that one and two bedrooms are still available for short or long-term rentals and emphasizes the perks of choosing Margaritaville as a vacation rental destination.
“We have happy hour specials every day. There’s a spa room available,” Byrne said. “Come and enjoy friends and family. Take advantage of our specials and rates. We have 8,000 square feet for people to do whatever they want.”
