Tragic Loss: SPI Mourns the Passing of Esteemed City Council Member

In a somber turn of events, South Padre Island bids farewell to a dedicated public servant and advocate for the community.

South Padre Island, Dec. 1 – SPI is grieving the news of the passing of City Council Member Eva–Jean Dalton. The respected civic leader, known for her unwavering dedication to community service, passed away this morning. 

 

Legacy of Service

 

Eva–Jean Dalton leaves behind a legacy of service and impact on SPI. The void left by her departure will undoubtedly be felt, but the city remains united in gratitude for the contributions she made to the betterment of SPI.

 

In a Facebook post shared from the City’s page,

 

“The sudden passing of Eva Jean is a great loss to our community. She was very passionate about the Island and will be tremendously missed,” said Mayor McNulty. “On behalf of the City Council, Staff, and the community, our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this difficult time.”

 

Memorial Services

 

Details regarding memorial services and any official commemorations to honor Eva–Jean Dalton's memory will be announced in the coming days.
