Tally Ragsdale is back for City Council, and she’s ready to use the valuable experience she gained in last November’s close election loss to Rees Langston to secure the vacant City Council chair in February.
Ragsdale was surprised at how many people wanted to see her run for election again.
“I had several people reach out to me wanting to run for this election,” Ragsdale said in an interview with Island Matters. “I had a lot of push and support to try and get back in it. And even though the turnover is so quick (from November) a week later. I’m back out (running the campaign).” |

Ragsdale, who helps run her family’s businesses and owns an umbrella service with Saida Towers, emphasized the importance of young people being involved with the city, as well as small businesses in the last election, and says that is still a priority.
“Being a small business owner, and entrepreneur on the island, you have a better chance of knowing the seasonality and the impact it has on businesses...I would say my focus is still the same.” |

Ragsdale has also stressed infrastructure, using examples such as the Wi-Fi and streetlights that she thinks can be improved on.
