Brad Robinson and his family moved from Amarillo to South Padre Island in June of 2023 after years of visiting and falling in love with SPI as a vacation get-a-way. Now, as a resident, Robinson wants to bring a fresh set of eyes to the City Council and to make the place he and his family loves, even better.
Robinson, a manager of multiple CVS Pharmacies for the last 15 years, is no stranger to politics.
“I mean, since I was a kid, I’ve always loved following politics,” Robinson told Island Matters in an interview Friday evening. “I’ve always felt like it’s my duty to vote. If the opportunity runs to lead, then go for it.”
Robinson served as a precinct chair in Amarillo for six months, rewriting bylaws for his county, as well as canvassing neighborhoods, and encouraging people to vote during elections.
Robinson’s focal points, if elected to office, include a focus on pedestrian safety. Robinson and his wife Amy frequently ride their bikes around the area and have concerns in terms of visibility. They believe while the safety here in SPI is good, there is always a way to improve, and he wants to help.
