The South Padre Island Police Department provided the following incidents from March 2 through March 8, 2024.
3/9 - At about 12:30 a.m., officers responded to 500 Padre Boulevard (Isla Grand) and observed a male subject at location who had been asked to leave by security several times and did not comply even after being advised he could be placed under arrest.
3/9 - At approximately 2:01 p.m., officer was dispatched to the 7000 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to a reckless damage report regarding a vehicle door that sustained a large dent. All available information was gathered pending further investigation.
3/9 - At approximately 5:34 p.m., A male was observed aggressively antagonizing a crowd of people on a public beach and arrested for Public Intoxication.
3/9 - At approximately 5:48 p.m., SPIPD, responded to the west side parking of the Comfort Inn located at 3813 Padre Boulevard in reference to male verbal disturbance. After investigation, one male subject was placed under arrest and charged with public intoxication.
3/9 - At approximately, 6:27 p.m., officers where clearing out the parking lot of 6900 block of Padre Boulevard. While officers where clearing out the parking lot they observed a male subject sitting down highly intoxicated. Officers made contact with the male subject and after investigation they placed the male subject under arrest.
3/9 - At 11:12 p.m. SPIPD officers arrested an underage female for public intoxication by a minor.
3/10 - At approximately 1:26 a.m. officers were dispatched to 3914 Padre Boulevard in reference to an assault between a male and female subject. Upon arrival, contact was made with the reporting party and an investigation was conducted. After the investigation, one male subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication class C misdemeanor.
3/10 - At around 11:44 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which the driver displayed signs of impairment. Field sobriety tests were administered and the driver was determined to be intoxicated. Driver was then placed under arrest for the offense of driving while intoxicated. Contact was made with the two passengers who were minors and also displayed signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests revealed that the passengers were also intoxicated. They were placed under arrest for the offense of public intoxication by a minor. A search of their persons and property revealed THC vape pens, leading to an additional charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.
3/11 - At approximately 8:08 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop at the 6900 block of Padre Boulevard due to a vehicle speeding. Upon making contact with the two male subjects in the vehicle, officers observed tobacco products in plain view on the male subject driving the vehicle. Officers then initiated a probable cause search on the vehicle due to the two male subjects being juveniles and possessing tobacco. When searching the vehicle officers located white in color pills inside a backpack. After investigation officers placed the two male subjects under arrest and they were transported to the city jail.
3/11 - At around 6:08 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of East Harbor Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash. The driver to one of the vehicles was determined to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for the offense of Driving While Intoxicated.
3/11 - At about 9:35 p.m., officers responded to 6900 Padre Boulevard (Clayton's Beach Bar) concerning a female who was possibly assaulted. She was so intoxicated and incoherent she could barely stand. The female was a danger to herself and arrested for public intoxication for her own safety. A report for the possible assault could not be filed at this time.
3/11 - At approximately 10:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to Louie's Backyard, located at 2305 Laguna Boulevard in reference to a theft. Upon arriving, contact was made with management in reference to a theft. Contact was also made with a male subject. Investigation revealed that the male subject deprived the establishment of 20 dollars us currency without the effective consent of the owner. The male subject was placed under arrest and charged with class C theft.
3/12 - At approximately 12:28 a.m., SPIPD responded to Louie's Backyard located at 2305 Padre Boulevard in reference to an intoxicated male who pushed another Law Enforcement Officer. After investigation, one male was placed under arrest and charged with public intoxication.
3/12 - At about 1:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to an assault on a peace officer call that occurred at 6700 Padre Boulevard (Courtyard by Marriott.) The suspect was arrested.
3/12 - At approximately 4:44 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the 2000 block of Padre Boulevard and subsequently placed one male operator and a female passenger under arrest for drug related charges and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Both the male subject and female subject were transported to the city jail where they were booked accordingly.
3/12 - At approximately 9:41 p.m., SPIPD responded to the 100 block of West Marlin Street in reference to a past theft of a motor vehicle. The golf cart was later located, and one male was placed under arrest for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
3/13 - At about 8:40 p.m., officers responded to the 100 Block of East Sunset drive in reference to a highly intoxicated female. She was arrested for public intoxication.
3/13 - At approximately 11:37 p.m., officers made contact with three male subjects in a white in color pick up truck. Investigation revealed one male subject to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and two other underage male subjects were in possession of on e-cigarettes. One male subject was placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia and the other two male subjects were cited and released.
3/14 - At approximately 2 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of East Bahama Street in reference to a disturbance involving a male and a female. Investigation revealed that a female subject committed an offense when she appeared in a public place, while intoxicated to the degree that she was a danger to herself and others. A female subject was arrested and transported to the SPI City jail for booking and processing.
3/14 - At approximately 5:25 p.m., officers responded to the 6500 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to a male subject being highly intoxicated. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a concerned citizen who directed to where the male subject was located. Due to the male subject being highly intoxicated he was placed under arrest.
3/14 - At approximately 5:46 p.m., while on patrol on the 7000 block of Section C in SPI, Officers responded to a fight between 4 male subjects. The 4 male subjects were observed by SPIPD to be fighting with one another in a public place.
3/14 - Officer responded to the 400 block of Gulf boulevard in reference to a possible disturbance between a male and female subject. Officer located female and male subject, after investigation female was placed under arrest. No time was given for the incident.
3/15 - At approximately 12:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to 100 Padre Boulevard in reference to a stolen vehicle which had a juvenile in the back seat of the car. Upon arrival Officers located the vehicle and its occupants. The vehicle had not been stolen but just moved to a near by parking lot.
3/15 - At about 2:07 a.m., near the 100 block of West Pike Street Officers observed a gray Jeep disregard a traffic control device (orange and white jersey barriers) which were in place to prevent vehicles from entering Laguna Boulevard for the safety of the many pedestrians walking near the entertainment district at that time of night (bar closing). A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.
3/15 - At approximately 9:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to 102 East Verna Jean Drive in reference to a physical disturbance in progress between a male and female subject. Officers detained the female subject and she was later transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.
3/15 - At approximately 6:20 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of West Retama Street and Laguna Boulevard in reference to a rollover crash. Two male subject were arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.
3/15 - Officers observed two minors, a male and female subject, that committed an offense, appeared in a public place while intoxicated to the degree that they were a danger to herself and/or others. There was not another person on scene who could be responsible for defendant. The minor male subject was found to be younger than 21 years of age and was in possession of an e-cigarette. No time of the incident was given.
3/16 - At approximately 12:22 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party who stated they were assaulted by an unknown female subject and wanted to file charges.
3/16 - At approximately 3:54 a.m., officers responded to a house party at 113 East Saturn. As officers were arriving at the location, they observed several subjects leaving the area. Officers made contact with a female subject who was intoxicated to the degree the person was a danger to themselves and to the general public.
3/16 - At approximately 1:40 p.m., a male and a female were arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia resulting from a traffic stop displaying fictitious Texas buyer tag and registration.
3/16 - At approximately 4:15 p.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to a theft. Upon officers arrival they made contact with a female reporting party. The female stated that a male subject entered the store and stole alcohol. Officers gathered information from the reporting party and resumed patrol.
3/16 - At approximately 5:21 p.m., officers observed a male subject in a grassy area at the 5700 block of Padre Boulevard lying face down. The male subject was evaluated by paramedics and after being cleared by them was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
3/16 - At approximately 7:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party who stated he was assaulted. Three out of five male subject were located and arrested for assault.
3/16 - At about 10:50 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on a city golf cart with no headlights when required in the bicycle/pedestrian lane. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
3/16 - At approximately 11:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Whiting Street in reference to an intoxicated female subject. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party who stated a female subject was not allowed on the property and displayed signs of intoxication. The female subject was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the South Padre Island City Jail where she was booked and processed properly.
3/16 - Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving traffic violation, after investigation the driver was placed under arrest for the offense of possession of drug paraphernalia.
