I just wanted to say a special thank you for all of the additional police, EMT, and beach patrol personnel that were very present during the Texas Spring Break Week.

While there were a few incidents, I can assure you that their physical presence was noticed and likely prevented so many other issues. Deterrence is always the best solution to crimes and shenanigans.

I'm optimistic that the families here on Spring Break, as well as the Winter Texans, will share with their friends that Spring Break week at SPI should not deter people from visiting and enjoying all that the island offers for a Spring Break Getaway.

It is time for SPI to stop promoting "Spring Break" and focus on making this a safe, clean family friendly place 365 days a year.

Many winter Texans would stay here much longer each year if SPI forgot about the drunk kids and focused on nature, natural beauty, peace, and relaxation. It doesn't take an army of cops to patrol families on the beach.

If Miami Beach can pull the plug on Spring Break, we can, and should, cancel the yearly drunken brawl that trashes our home.
