The South Padre Island Police Department provided the following incidents from March 24th through March 30th, 2024.
3/24 - At 6:03 P.M., South Padre Island Police Officers obtained a stolen golf cart report at 5100 Gulf Blvd.
3/24 - At around 9:28 p.m., Officers were dispatched to 119 East Amberjack Street in reference to an assault. Primary aggressor was identified and placed under arrest for the offense of assault causing bodily injury family violence.
3/24 - Police responded to the 2300 block of Laguna Boulevard in reference to a past criminal mischief. Upon arrival, officer made contact with a female who manages the property. The female stated that during the night time unknown male subjects vandalized the sand sculptures causing damages.
3/25 - At 2:38 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the Isla Grand Beach Resort, located at 500 Padre Boulevard, in reference to an assault. The investigation revealed that a taxi cab driver was the victim of an assault and robbery. The suspect in the case was located, arrested, and charged with aggravated robbery and resisting transport.
3/25 - At approximately 2:21 p.m., Officers were dispatched to 131 East Constellation Street in reference to an abandoned golf cart on private property. Officers confirmed the golf cart had been stolen by an unknown subject and were able to return the golf cart to its owner.
3/26 - At approximately 02:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to four male subjects climbing light poles. A male subject was observed in possession of stolen property, who fled on foot. The male subject was subsequently arrested for public intoxication and theft and transported to the South Padre Island City Jail. The male subject was booked and processed properly.
3/26 - At approximately 09:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to a male subject who appeared to be intoxicated and was standing next to the road. The male subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the South Padre Island City Jail where he was booked in.
3/26 - At approximately 7:10 p.m., officers had concluded a welfare check at the 4100 block of Padre Boulevard and observed a male subject urinating on a palm tree next to a residence. The male subject was subsequently arrested and transported to the South Padre Island City Jail where he was booked and processed properly.
3/26 - At approximately 8:31 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party who stated she wanted to file charges for disorderly conduct language. The suspect was issued a non-arrest citation and released.
3/26 - At approximately 10:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to 100 East Bahama Street in reference to intoxicated subjects. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male subject and the reporting party and an investigation was conducted. After the investigation one male subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication class C misdemeanor.
3/27 - At approximately 1:18 p.m., officers were dispatched via radio to the 1200 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to graffiti. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject who stated that the owner of the building wanted to press charges against an unknown subject for painting with aerosol paint on his property. Officers gathered an incident statement from the owner of the property via email and resumed patrol.
3/28 - At approximately 1:31 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of 5600 block of Padre Boulevard, when they observed a golf cart on fire. Officers then made contact with the occupants of the golf cart and secured the scene. South Padre Island Fire Department then arrived at scene and extinguished the active fire.
3/29 - At 02:34 a.m., SPIPD arrested three individuals for public intoxication at the 100 block of Cora Lee St.
3/29 - At approximately 10:56 a.m., officers are dispatched to an incident that just occurred at the New Wave T-shirt shop located at 1900 Padre Boulevard where 5 subjects had fled into an grey colored Ford focus after stealing . The vehicle was later located and stopped in the parking area of Pirates Landing restaurant in Port Isabel, Texas where two females were arrested and charged with theft class C misdemeanor and three other subjects were released without charges filed. The vehicle was impounded and the two arrestees were transported back to the South Padre Island City Jail and booked in pending arraignment.
3/29 - At approximately 2:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to La Copa Inn located at 350 Padre Boulevard in reference to a theft and assault that had occurred at Dirty Al’s Seafood Kitchen located at 33396 State Park Road 100. Officers made contact with store management and identified two subjects who had stolen food from the restaurant.
3/29 - At approximately 2:20 p.m., officers responded to 132 East Constellation Street in reference to an intoxicated male subject pulling on the gates to the residence wearing a yellow shirt and tan pants drinking a bottle out of a paper bag. A male subject was arrested for appearing in a public place while intoxicated.
3/29 - At approximately 6 p.m., a male subject made contact with officers at the 3200 block of Padre Boulevard. A male subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication and was transported to the SPIPD for booking and processing. Investigation revealed that a male subject committed an offense when he appeared in a public place, while intoxicated, to the degree that he was a danger to himself and others.
3/29 - At approximately 8:31 p.m., South Padre Island Police Officers investigated an accident at the 2900 block of Padre Boulevard. After investigation, the at fault operator was placed under arrest and charged with accident involving damage to a vehicle resulting to damages over $200.00.
3/30 - At approximately 12:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Pike Street in reference to an intoxicated subject. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject who displayed signs of intoxication and he was subsequently arrested. The male subject was transported to the South Padre Island City Jail where he was booked and processed properly.
3/30 - At approximately 4:13 p.m., an officer was dispatched to 7200 Padre Blvd. (Sand Rose Resort) in reference to an investigation. Officer then met with the general manager of the resort who wanted the officer to investigate an offense that happened towards his hotel staff. The male subject was asked to leave the resort with his family members. The hotel staff did not want to press charges against the male subject.
3/30 - At approximately 6:48 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 6900 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party who stated her niece had used vulgar language towards her and wanted to file charges. The female subject was not able to be located.
3/30 - At approximately 7:36 p.m., SPI Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a red Audi for no seat belts. After investigation, the driver was placed under arrest for an active arrest warrant issued by Hidalgo County Sheriff's Officer. One passenger was also placed under arrest and charged with public intoxication.
